IKAN EC1 GIMBAL STABILIZER FOR A7S Features

Enjoy Steadier Shots with the Ikan EC1 Gimbal Stabilizer

The Ikan EC1 Beholder is a lightweight and easy-to-use three-axis handheld gimbal stabilizer that's convenient to carry around. Hand-held stabilizers for DSLR videos, in particular, are used to prevent bumps and help you record super-smooth video. The EC1 is the ideal choice for low budget or indie productions, as well as family videos.

This three-axis handheld gimbal stabilizer is designed for mirrorless cameras and DSLRs that weigh between 2 to 4.5 lbs. You get unlimited 360-degree rotations along the yaw, pitch, and roll axes. This Ikan stabilizer also features a 32-bit controller and 12-bit encoder system, while the PID algorithm is adaptive and delivers stable rotation. Three follow modes are available, along with an auto-inversion mode--a feature that allows upside down operation. The auto-inversion mode also lets you use the gimbal with dual-handle support systems, including the iKan DGH.

The Ikan ECI Beholder boasts a steady lock mode and point-and-lock mode, while its OLED display screen tells you which operation mode you've selected and displays information about the battery life.

Here are some of the key features:

  • Designed for DSLRs & Mirrorless Cameras weighing between 2.0 to 4.5 lbs
  • Made of Durable Aluminum
  • 360 Degree Movement from Pitch, Yaw & Roll Axes
  • 3-Axis Gyro Stabilized Brushless Motors
  • OLED Display Screen to show operating modes
  • Equipped with 32-Bit Controller & 12-Bit Encoder
  • 3/8?-16 Tripod Mount Socket

Capture Panoramic Shots with 360-degree Rotation

Professional filmmakers can use the Ikan EC1 for small- and medium-sized cameras that weigh between 2 to 4.5 pounds, such as mirrorless cameras and DSLRs. These include, but are not limited to, the Sony a6500, a7S, Panasonic GH5, and Canon 5D Mark IV. In terms of build, the Ikan Beholder is entirely made out of durable aluminum which makes it light to carry.

This gimbal stabilizer also features three 360-degree rotating brushless motors, giving you virtually limitless 360-degree rotation in all axes (yaw, pitch, and roll). Equipped with a 32-bit controller with a 12-bit encoder, the Beholder utilizes its adaptive PID algorithm for advance stabilization. This means that the EC1 gathers data of the motor's exact position, while the adaptive stabilization algorithm gives you smooth video, regardless of whether you're walking, running, or riding.

Using the Lock Mode, all three axes of the Beholder secure the camera in a fixed and pointed direction. With this, the position of the camera is maintained no matter how you maneuver the handle. The Ikan EC1 also includes a Point and Lock feature that allows you to lock the position of your camera by pointing and holding it for a few seconds in any direction.

Mount Units Easily on the EC1 Gimbal Stabilizer

The Ikan EC1 is equipped with a quick-release baseplate system that makes it easier for you to balance your camera by removing the need for tools when mounting a unit on the gimbal stabilizer. Its handle includes two 1/4-20 mounts. Microphones and monitors are some of the perfect accessories to mount on these.

The 3/8-16 thread on the bottom, on the other hand, allows you to mount the EC1 onto other support systems, such as a tripod, job, or dual handle support. In addition to this, the Beholder features an OLED Status Display screen located on the handle's back. This conveniently shows you the information about the operating mode you're in, together with the battery life.

Customize Your Settings with the ECI's 3 Follow Modes

The EC1 has three Follow Modes. The Yaw-axis Follow Mode enables the gimbal to only follow your pan movements. As for the Pitch and Yaw-axis Follow Mode, your pan and tilt movements are the ones that the Beholder will follow. For the 3-Axis Follow Mode, you have full control that enables you to pan, tilt, and roll.

Besides these, this Ikan gimbal stabilizer allows you to flip the handle over the camera and automatically switch to inverted mode at any time. Furthermore, using inverted mode can be done with any of the follow and lock modes.

Shoot for a Full Day With the 18650 Batteries

When you're at a shoot, you'll want to make sure that both your camera and stabilizer last for the entire session. The Ikan EC1 is powered by three powerful 18650 rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. These batteries can be recharged using the MicroUSB adapter that's included with the stabilizer. A separate charger from the brand is also available, which enables you to remove batteries from the EC1 and charge them through an AC outlet.

The Beholder can be last for a full day of shooting when it's fully charged. The three 18650 batteries provide eight to 10 hours of operating life when used continuously, but when switched between shooting and standby modes throughout the day, the gimbal can have an operating life of up to 20 hours. Lastly, it takes three to four hours to charge this Ikan stabilizer.
