RENT Canon FD PL Mount 7-Lens GL Optics Kit

The Canon FD lenses were originally produced from the early 1970s through the late 1980s, proudly rehoused to meet modern cinematic standards. Initially released in two phases the earlier SC/SSC and the later FD/FD-L these lenses were highly regarded for their similarity to the esteemed Canon K-35 cine lenses, known for their full-frame coverage.

In response to the cinematographic potential of these lenses, GLO introduced an innovative rehousing project. This transformation involved integrating a circular iris with 14 to 16 blades, which mimics the bokeh effect of the Canon K-35 lenses and provides a distinct, cinematic look at various aperture settings. The redesigned housing incorporates a heliocoil focus system that is compatible across all models, including those with floating elements, enhancing their functionality in film production.

Despite the diversity in focal lengths and specifications, the rehoused lenses maintain a consistent design ethos. Most models boast a front diameter of 110mm, except for the 18mm FD-X, which varies depending on the choice of a Zunow or Angenieux wide-angle adapter, extending up to 143mm. All models feature internal focusing, standardized placement of iris and focus gears, and nearly 300degrees of focus rotation. They come equipped with a PL mount, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of film cameras.
