Make your cinematic vision a reality with the EZ-3 Super35 and Full-Frame Cinema Zoom 2-Lens Kit, featuring the 45-165mm T2.3 and 68-250mm T3.5 Lens for PL Mount. This innovative kit offers Angenieux's unique Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO) system, a compact solution that provides dual sensor-format compatibility. The kit includes screw-mounted S35 and full-frame/VistaVision real optical blocks, which can be conveniently changed in the field by users.
The full-frame rear group doubles as a 1.5x extender for S35 capture, ensuring no crop factor. The 22mm/T3 wide-angle end for large format cameras transforms the lens into a 15mm/T2.0 for S35 cameras, maintaining a similar field of view with an added gain in the T-stop.
The EZ-3 zoom lens comes with an ARRI PL mount, which can be replaced with separately available Sony E, Canon EF, or Canon RF lens mounts. This interchangeability ensures compatibility with a broad spectrum of cameras, making this lens kit a versatile choice for filmmakers.
With a relatively fast T2.3 maximum aperture in Super35 and T3.5 in full frame, the EZ-3 allows you to light to a lower level than many zooms typically require. In full frame, the EZ-3 maintains a constant T-stop from 68-200mm, or across the entire zoom range when the aperture is set to T4.5 or slower.
The EZ-3 zoom's Focus/Iris/Zoom gears align with the EZ-1 and EZ-2, allowing the use of the same accessories. This zoom is also compatible with the Angenieux MSU-1 and MSU-1A servo units for ENG-style use.
The lens kit features independent manual control rings for focus, iris, and zoom, each incorporating industry-standard 0.8 MOD lens gear teeth. The EZ-3 shares the same 114mm front common to the Angenieux OPTIMO lens series, facilitating the sharing of matte boxes between the EZ-3 and the OPTIMO lenses. A 105mm thread allows for the addition of filters to the front of the lens, eliminating the weight of a matte box when desired.
