- Overview -
The ZEISS Loxia 50mm f/2 is a manual-focus normal-length prime lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, also compatible with APS-C models where it provides a 75mm equivalent focal length. Its Planar optical design and ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating support high sharpness, contrast, and color fidelity, while the bright f/2 aperture provides versatility across a range of lighting conditions.
The compact all-metal lens features engraved focus and depth-of-field scales, a 180 degree focus rotation with hard stops, and a manual aperture ring that can be mechanically de-clicked using the included De-Click Tool for smooth, silent adjustment. Electronic contacts transmit EXIF data to the camera, while internal seals and a blue sealing ring at the mount provide dust- and moisture-resistant construction.
