RENT Tripod Head Bogen Manfrotto 502HD Features
The Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base is an affordable yet fully featured professional head that improves upon the popular 501HDV. It has a sturdier construction and includes Manfrotto’s patented bridging technology inherited from the 509 and 504 heads. This head is designed for smooth cinematic movements using compact camcorders and DSLR cameras.
The 502AH is available in two versions - the AH flat base version with a 3/8-16 mounting hole, as shown here, and the A ball base version, which is sold separately.
It supports a weight capacity of 22 pounds and the counterbalance handles up to 8.8 pounds. The balance plate has a 3.27 inch range, allowing you to compensate for uneven payloads caused by matte boxes or DSLR rig setups.
The bridging technology makes pan friction control intuitive and easy to adjust while protecting it from impacts. There are independent locks for pan and tilt, and the drag for both can be smoothly adjusted across a continuous range from zero to maximum. This design lets you operate the head confidently and smoothly using the included pan bar.
