Canon R5
The Canon R5 is Canon's full-frame hybrid powerhouse camera, featuring a high-resolution 45-megapixel sensor and 8K video capabilities. Paired with the DIGIC X Processor, the R5 is blazingly fast and can shoot up to 20 frames per second in burst mode when using the electronic shutter. An advanced autofocus system powered by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II accurately tracks people, animals, birds, and more to maintain focus with impressive reliability. 45-Megapixel Sensor
The 45MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor offers high-resolution images with realistic colors and tones for both photo and video. With an ISO Sensitivity range of 100-51200 and an expandable ISO up to 102400, working in a variety of lighting conditions is possible, with over 14 stops of dynamic range. This sensor pairs perfectly with the DIGIC X Processor, which enables the R5 to boast a maximum burst shooting speed of 12 fps with the mechanical shutter or 20 fps with the electronic shutter.
Body Design
The R5 features three impressive screens that help you capture every scene exactly how you imagine. A 5.76m-dot 0.5" EVF provides one of the highest resolution viewfinders on the market today for eye-level viewing. 120 fps refresh rate makes images look smooth as you pan to find the perfect composition. A rear 3.2" 2.1m-dot fully articulating LCD touchscreen is perfect for odd angles, selfie-style recording, and vlogging. Finally, a top LCD can quickly display your camera's shooting settings and let you make adjustments.
Impressive Focusing System
Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system features 1053 focus points that cover approximately 100% of the image frame. The AI-based auto-focusing system uses deep learning to quickly and reliably select your target and maintain focus as the subject moves throughout the frame. When shooting photos, the focus mode works quickly and accurately, keeping rapidly moving subjects in perfect focus. For video, Movie Servo AF gives creators smooth, natural focusing when adjusting subjects in the scene, and you can even adjust sensitivity, AF Speed, and Face Tracking priority. And with the touchscreen LCD, rack focus is easier than ever before.
8K30p Recording
For creators looking to crop down or future-proof their footage, DCI 8K30p RAW recording is available alongside 4K120p recording in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log. Canon is always updating its cameras to keep ahead of the industry. Users can output 8K30p video for ProRes raw recording to the Atomos Ninja V+ recorder with an optional HDMI cable, furthering the versatility of the Canon R5.
8 Stop Image Stabilization
Canon EOS's first 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization provides up to 8.0 stops of stabilization, making handheld shooting possible at shutter speeds you never imagined. When paired with native RF and adapted EF lenses, image stabilization is further improved.
