The Angenieux Optimo 28-76mm T2.6 is a high-performance, lightweight zoom lens designed for Super 35mm digital and film cameras. Engineered with a PL mount, it also features an interchangeable rear assembly, allowing seamless conversion to Panavision or Canon EF mounts (sold separately), making it highly versatile for a wide range of production environments.

With a constant T2.6 maximum aperture, the Optimo 28-76mm offers excellent low-light capability and consistent exposure throughout the zoom range. Its optical performance is comparable to prime lenses, enabling cinematographers to maintain visual consistency without needing to relight when switching between focal lengths. Internal light transmission is highly efficient, with minimal light loss (only 1/10 of a stop).

Weighing just 4.2 lbs (1.9 kg), the lens is ideal for handheld, Steadicam, gimbal, and aerial use. It features a 114mm front diameter, consistent with other lenses in the Optimo line, ensuring compatibility with standard cine matte boxes and accessories.

The lens offers independent manual control rings for focus, iris, and zoom, each equipped with industry-standard 0.8 pitch gear teeth for compatibility with follow focus and lens control systems. Its close focus distance is 2 feet (0.6 m) from the image plane.

In addition, the Optimo series is built with temperature compensation mechanisms, maintaining optical precision and minimizing the need for re-collimation in changing environmental conditions.
