RENT Tiffen 4x5.65" Pearlescent 2 Filter Features
The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Pearlescent 2 Filter can be applied to purposely soften contrast and reduce sharpness. This stronger grade filter is useful for high-resolution digital cinematography to create a flattering result by significantly reducing the appearance of blemishes and softening highlights. Additionally, a pronounced pearlescent halo around highlights is created which can further enhance a subject's appearance or produce a desired artistic effect.
This filter has a grade of 2, offering roughly four times the effect of the 1/2 grade. Other available grades include 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1, where the effect approximately doubles with each grade increase.
This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
